Who We Are
Foundation Church is a community built on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ. We believe every follower of Christ is called to serve, grow, and share the love of God with others. Through worship, prayer, Scripture, and authentic relationships, we seek to grow deeper in faith and wider in our impact as we reflect Jesus to our community in Kentwood and the greater Grand Rapids area.
Everyone a Missionary and Minister
As ministers, we are hospitable, inviting, and welcoming. We follow-up with participants and move everyone to the core of our community. Ministry is most effective when done through authentic relationships developed through groups and family. Every believer is a priest of God and has a specific calling to fulfill in the world. The primary role of ministry staff is to equip believers to answer this call and minister within the church and to the broader the community.
Intentional Discipleship and Equipping through Groups and Life Together
Groups provide the opportunity to do life together, build kingdom community, and reflect on our growth and difficulties. The intentional discipleship will also allow the body to have accountability and have hands on opportunities to put into practice the learning and development taking place in each other’s growing lives with Christ. We don’t learn things we don’t apply, so putting them into practice is essential.
God’s Word is Central
Both written scripture and the Living WORD, Jesus, are central to everything we do. Regular reading and reflecting on Scripture, allowing the Holy Spirit to interpret scripture, both privately and corporately, a personal relationship with Jesus, and a daily commitment to follow His teaching, are habits foundational for devotion to God and holistic worship.
Persistent & Continual Prayer

Meaningful Worship
We will strive to facilitate engaging, compelling, and relevant Worship Services that inspire participants to Go and embrace a life of holistic worship. Meaningful worship, evidenced by God’s Holy Spirit, includes worship arts, music and song, opportunity to give, pray, practice sacraments, experience God’s Word through public reading, preaching, teaching, and opportunities for transformational response (Table Ministries). Miracles, signs and wonders follow the preaching of the Gospel, so we expect to see those. We will be built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ and incorporate both contemporary elements and church traditions and practices. We believe that a life with Christ is a life full of worship.
Reflect Jesus and Reach the Lost
Jesus loves lost people as well as those who have already found Him. The church primarily exists to reflect and represent Jesus to those not yet reached. The local church is the hope of the world. We will serve Kentwood and the greater Grand Rapids community in a way that the church would be deeply missed if it ceased to exist by echoing Christ’s radical acts of kindness and service. God’s Spirit is still active in and through us.

We will be a church that is built deep and wide upon the firm foundation of Christ.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to work with and in the Father to expand the Kingdom of Heaven in Kentwood. It is in our DNA to build, equip, and send leaders into their communities and callings in accordance with Ephesians 4.

WHAT WE DO
We build communities of believers who do life together in the good times and through our struggles. The Church is more than a Sunday gathering, it is the bride of Christ, the body of believers, who are charged with the spreading of the Good News of the gospel.
